Simulation
The client wanted employees to learn how to cancel a policy. The system was pretty straight forward. I implemented a LEAD strategy and created a simulation so they could learn by doing. The simulation looked identical to the actual system and the learner was able to navigate around receiving feedback if they took a wrong turn.
I used Articulate Storyline to create this learning experience.
This is the instructions for the simulation explaining the learner will interact just like they would in the system.
I used scrolling panels to allow the learner to scroll up and down the long pages just like they would in the system. I used a monitor on the screen to make it more realistic.
I included three hints at the bottom of each slide. These became more helpful as you move over to the next hint.
I made sure each field was enterable just like it is in the system. Drop-downs and radio dials looked identical to the system when they were used in the learning experience.
The learners are able to select any of the options within the drop-downs and receive feedback if they chose incorrectly.
Incorrect actions provided immediate feedback and allowed the learner to try again so they could explore and find the correct answer.
